For more than a decade, Becky Bishop, owner of Puppy Manners(tm), Inc., has been bringing her talent, sense of humor and knowledge to thousands of families and dogs across the Northwest. Recently recognized as "Best Bet for Your Best Friend" by Seattle Magazine, Becky is frequently sought out for her expertise and positive, down-to-earth approach to training. She has been quoted in numerous national publications including the Boston Globe and Parade.
Becky's love and understanding of people and animals has carried over into other parts of her life. She has a long history of community service, sharing her time, skills and enthusiasm with non-profit organizations. In the early 90's she was recognized by the Long Beach Police Officer's Association as "Woman of the Year". These days she can be found promoting and raising money for Reading with Rover ©, a children's literacy program for which she serves as executive director. She also is a certified therapy animal evaluator for Delta Society, an affiliate of Intermountain Therapy Animals' R.E.A.D. ® program, and a frequent guest speaker on family dog training.
Becky's Labrador Retrievers, Magic and Boomer, have also shared the spotlight. Magic starred in the movie Practical Magic with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. Boomer appeared in a television commercial for Washington Mutual Bank and has modeled dog apparel for the REI catalog. Becky lives in Woodinville, WA with her husband, kids, dogs, cats and horses.
