Is there enough space in the weights area to comfortably accommodate a number of people without bumping into someone? A sign of a good gym is a complete set of weights and machines. You are trying to look for a gym that has the equipment for you to work all parts of your body, as well as give you the cardio exercise you need to burn off excess fat. Look for machines that can help facilitate your lat pull downs, benches that can help work your chest, weight racks that increase by five pounds as you go down the rack, squat machines, and others. Remember, there is no point in going to a gym that is ill stocked. Hygiene in the gym is an important thing as well. Take a tour of the locker room, the showers, and the sauna. Ask yourself if you are comfortable in these area. Make sure that you can see personnel who are cleaning the premises on a regular basis. Ventilation is also very important. We wouldn't want to be straining and then huffing and puffing because the gym lacks the proper amount of air! So try and look for a gym that has good air circulation as well.
