So let's close up the Inspector Palette and now I get a chance to show you the other new tool, the one that was nested in there with the Layer Tool. This is the Grid Text Box Tool. So we'll go over to the tools and hold down on the Layer Tool and select the one below it called the Grid Text Box Tool. Then we'll come back to our grid and draw out a text box on our grid.
Again, we'll go to Library Palette and find our placeholder text right here. At this time we'll take greek-text-2. It's now really greek, that's just what they call it. Now I am going to go back to my Selection Tool, so that I can actually work with this text a bit.
What I want to do is select a couple of these words and create a link. Linking is a fundamental feature of the web, I mean a hyperlink is what takes you from place-to-place. So we have got to find an easy way to make a link from one page to another. The way to do that is to use our trusty Inspector Palette. So I have got two words selected here in the text, I am going to click over to the Inspector Palette, and introduce you to this great tool, this one is called the Fetch URL Tool.
Now watch this, this is great, I just love this. This is wonderful. All you do is click down on this and drag across to your site window and point at the page you want to link to. That's as easy as pie. Let it go and you'll notice now my selected words are underlined which indicates that they are linked. Okay, so we could just click the Preview in Browser button that up here to preview it in Internet Explorer, but don't forget, remember I told you back in Lesson 1 that there are other options under here too. So may be we will take a look at Firefox this time around.
Let's choose Firefox. Firefox opens up the page. There is our link, so let's go over here and click it and see what we get. There is our dolphin. We did it, we did it. Okay, so we are going to go back to GoLive just to wrap up this lesson. So let me close that Firefox here. Click the Close button and I am going to close the Inspector Palette, close this window which I will save. The reason I am doing all this is -- look at this. We get this Set Title window because GoLlive is very helpfully reminding us that Untitled Page is not a very good title for a page.
So let's go ahead and change this and we will call it Test Page Two. We'll Set the title, which dismisses the box, and there we have got our two pages. But now, I want to show you some of the power of GoLive site management, because if I take this seacreatures page and decide that I want to move it into the pictures directory, watch what happens. I get this Move Files dialog box which is telling me that if I move that page, these two files will need to be updated in order for them not to have broken links. Of course, thankfully GoLive is tracking this for me and I am going to say OK.
Okay, I'll just click the Up button here at the upper-left to bring this back up to the root level of the site. Then we can close this site out and GoLive very helpfully gives us a little dialog saying, Are you sure you want to close the site? That's really good because sometimes I have accidentally closed the sites, when I didn't mean to before, but in this case, I want to because I want to get ready for Lesson 3. I'll see you there.
