Welcome back. I’m glad you can make it. We’re here today planting some pepper plants. These are jalapenos and these are banana peppers both are excellent source of vitamin C. I went to Pete’s store today. I went on to pick up some cantaloupe seeds and some pumpkin seeds and we will plant it later. My jalapeno peppers is pretty good. I wished I have planted more of them more than needs to plant so here work in May, so Christ, my wife, we decided to go into the Pete’s store and pick up some more. A lot of people, whenever I’m out of the community talking to people I ask them--well I don’t go up to strangers and ask them. Anyway, these are some ashes out of my wood barn and barbecue pit. We are using the ashes on top of the fertilizer. Ask a friend, “Do you have a garden?” The usual response is “No, I don’t have a garden”. And this is 16-6-12 fertilizer, it’s lower in phosphorous to keep your acidity to soothing. They go “I don’t have time to keep up with a garden. I don’t have the time to do these. I don’t have the time to do that.” Now I’ll going to mix these ashes fertilizer together. “I don’t have time to do this, I don’t have time to keep it up” and I say it does not take a lot of time to have yourself a small backyard garden. This does not take to much time at all. Just a little bit of love, a little bit of- my grandson is here, with us. Come here Hayden, come here. His camera shy, it’s alright. His afraid I’ll going to put him to work. And so, the other reason why I ask if they have a garden is that I’m a little concern because there is a bird flu pandemic. The World Health Organization considers the bird flu the number one threat to public health right now. So if there is a bird flu outbreak, I like to have an idea on who is going to show up on my door step. Your friends, your family, they are more likely to show up. Some are going to you straight; they walk up to your house and say can you put me up for a little while. With your friends and family, they are more inclined to do that especially if they know you have food. And that is what this is. I don’t have time to do a garden. I don’t have time to do these. I don’t have time to do that. Well if I have time to sit here and talk to you. If I have time to do these, then surely you have time make sure that your family will have plenty to eat. These banana peppers, you can eat them raw, straight out of the vine, especially if they are small. The jalapenos, we like to do some spices with this. I like to use them on some Mexican dishes and nachos. I really liked them on cheese burgers. Just slapped them up. Well looked at that, I’m planting new on my onion patch. And these tomatoes, these used to be a mulch pile last summer and this tomatoes just sprouted. They just started coming up. So we’ll let them go. See if they make it. I don’t know if they are hybrids or not, I don’t know what they are going to do. If have a little green in your backyard, you might want to put on a little hand garden. See that? Now we will be going to have fresh jalapenos, fresh pepper. We have our cucumbers and tomatoes over there. It does not really take too long. I’m glad that you all could visit me while I planted these pepper plants. Talk to you later.
