This video tutorial is brought to you by jimmyr.com, the best in the internet.
In this video I will be showing you how to download movies and even watch TV from your computer without the use of Torrents or Peer to Peer networks. Basically, there has been three clients out. I will start with TV first, that will allow you to stream TV from your computer directly on to the client. They have added a downloadable client where it streams the TV at a very high bit rate. These clients are Joost, Zattoo and Babelgum. I have tried Joost and Babelgum. I had not tried Zatto. But they were not bad. The only thing I recommend is that you have a 1.5 GHz or higher or else it will log your computer a little bit.
The first is Joost, probably the first one that came out I think. You can just sign up. It is completely free. There is Babelgum also and there is Zattoo. As you can see, it has a ton of channels. You can watch directly from this client so, it is a pretty usable program if you like to watch TV. You can also--I mentioned Vuze before. I would not go to into it because it is a torrent software. It has also several amateur channels that are uploaded. Jalipo allows you to TV streaming directly from your browser. Again, it has several channels you can watch, and it even has several sections to pick one from and it even has international. Here is French TV. You just click it, it starts streaming. It opens up a video player. Veoh allows you to watch very high quality, high resolution videos. Not, necessarily TV but has a lot of Anime if you like Anime, and that type of thing. The video quality is very high. Stage6 allows people to upload up to two gigabytes. The only inconvenience is that you have to use their DivX. You have to have DivX downloaded and in order to upload videos it has to be in DivX format. They will tell you to use their DivX converter but again it is very high quality videos. Unlike You Tube, it does not resize videos so, it is very useful for people like me that like to screen capture things. It does not resize our videos to a very small tiny box.
One to lookout for, you have to bookmark this site, it is called thevideobay.org and it is actually by the makers of the piratebay.org. Basically, they plan this to be the YouTube killer. In other words, they plan to make it like the piratebay except in YouTube format where you can actually stream the pirated videos onto your computer. You can actually watch some streaming online without actually having to download them with torrents. Another one is called blip.tv and again, it is very, very high-resolution videos. A lot of them are entertaining, maybe it is not directly network TV but it can be entertaining as I have seen.
If you go to Google and you type comparison of video services, Wikipedia, type comparison of video services Wikipedia and you will end up in this page, comparison of video services. It just has a big box. If you are only on YouTube, you can check out this other site. There is tons of other different sites besides YouTube that basically do the same thing. They have different limitations and different ways are useful. Like for example break.com, I can upload all my videos really quickly rather than uploading a video one at a time. But, it is very nice comparison. It also has list of video sharing sites at the bottom. They just shows you the list instead of the giant chart. I love Google video because I can search genre, documentaries and I can order by length so I do not get in the YouTube videos and I can get tons of documentaries that are the highest rated sorted by popularity or rating. You can even search nothing and still get results. So, it is pretty useful if you want to see the best rated videos on the internet.
