How To Get to Heaven

Sin separates God and man, thus blocking our way into heaven. Fortunately by God’s great mercy and love for us, He has provided another way for us to meet Him there. In the book of John, chapter 14:6, Jesus tells us the only way to get to heaven. Very plainly Jesus states, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me." Concluding by God’s word that the only way to heaven is through Jesus, we will now look at how to make that journey.

How To Make Room to Journal

Journal keepers journal for therapy, prayer and self-reflection. A spiritual journal serves as a companion if you are ready to develop and discover more about God's plan for your life. Journaling is a process for those who believe journaling is a way of life, a way of understanding the world. It is part of a lineage that embraces events, circumstances, landscapes and people that connect you to God. Journaling is a spiritual undertaking that takes you on several paths, but only one direction--deepening your relationship with God.

The most important action is to show up to the page. The more room in your life to journal generates even more room for journaling with and to God. The only true obstacle to journaling is a lack of faith that appears as fear and self-judgment. As an avid journal keeper and workshop leader, I offer you some scripture inspiration to prompt your journal writing. Pick up your pen and write.

How To Confess Your Sins

Confession is a practice that has already developed into an institutionalized practiced -- imbued with certain beliefs and strict rules to follow. Hence, private confession requires a lot of preparation. Here are the things you have to do (or know) before private confession:

Know how the confession will go about. Basically, here are the succeeding stages of private confession, along with related attitudes that everyone has to follow diligently every time he or she confesses:

The Examination of Conscience.

Confessing Your Sins.

Priest's/Confessor's Advice.

Absolution/Act of Contrition.

(Private) Prayer (to Mary) After Confession.

That first stage is when you should evaluate what sins you have committed. Have a firm purpose of confessing them and amending them. (But then you also have to know if what things you committed are considered 'sins.')

How To Become a Born Again Christian

I want to share with you some simple and easy steps to salvation. Maybe you're used to thinking it's very hard to become a sound believer in Christ; I have good news for you. Getting born again is as simple as ABC when you have faith enough to follow a set of easy steps that I'm about to show you.

What is it like to be BORN AGAIN? The phrase "born again" was first used by our Lord Jesus Christ when addressing the spiritual vulnerability and the eternal damnation awaiting Nicodemus (John 3:3). Jesus categorically submitted that being born again is the passport for experiencing and entering into the Kingdom of God. To be born again is to be regenerated. It simply depicts turning from one's sinful way unto righteous living. The following are the steps necessary for getting born again.

How To Live Happily with Your Wife

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and has found favor in the eyes of God -- thus says the bible. Finding a wife is truly an honorable thing. In some societies it is an initiation to maturity and responsibility. While many people would cherish that idea, managing it is very elusive to many people.

I don’t want to assume that I hold the key to the success of managing this situation, but would be happy to share some recommendations with readers from all over the world. It is my hope that this article will bring happiness to you. There is nothing that comforts a married woman more than the thought that her husband loves her and is by her side all that time. Women desire that their husbands would find such articles and read many of them.

How To Reap What You Sow in the Kingdom of God

While the earth and heaven remains, seed time and harvest....summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. That is the word of God according to Genesis 8:22. In short, the law of sowing and reaping is compared to that of summer and winter and also day and night. So long as we live, we shall experience these things. They are bound to happen. In the ordinary world, you cannot sow wheat and harvest rice. You will harvest that type of seed sowed and in plenty. In the Kingdom of God, the same rule applies--whatever one sows, the same he shall reap. Many people in the modern world pray for miracles. They want the miracles of Elijah and Enoch but do not live the lives of Elijah or Enoch.

You may be one of God's children that is looking forward to experiencing a miracle like that of Gideon. Below are some of the sowing and reaping methods:

How To Keep a Spiritual Journal

Ten million blank journals are sold annually in stationery stores alone, two million in specialty stores. Despite the current interest and availability of journals, the desire to put one's thoughts onto paper is centuries old. Seeing one's thoughts on paper is like holding a piece of your life in your hands. You can look at the journey you've taken, meditate on choices you've made, and deepen your understanding of yourself and God's purpose for your life.

How To Remember the 10 Commandments

First, you must remember them as they were set by God's revelation to Moses:

You shall have no other gods before me; you shall not make for yourself an idol.

You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God.

Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.

Honor your Father and Mother.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor's house.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

Now, take a look at what Jesus told us:

How To Overcome an Inferiority Complex as a Christian

Naturally, when you sit next a well-groomed young lady, you will be tempted to compare yourself with her--the shoes, clothes, make-up, etc.--and rate yourself against her. This behavior is normal for any human being, but sometimes people look down on themselves and think that because they don't have this or that, they are of no worth. There is a story in the Bible of a man called Mephibosheth, one of the descendants of King Saul. This guy was physically challenged and could not stand upright--he was lame. It came to pass that when King David wanted to find someone from the house of King Saul to give him gifts. He was told that only Mephiboshet existed and was a lame man.

How To Support Your Pastor

Pastors are servants of God who have offered themselves either professionally or by calling to be shepherds of His flock, the people of God. I would like to start by explaining the difference between the two. There are pastors, who initially were not even believers, let alone planning to be pastors, but God called them to the ministry and they found themselves preaching and taking care of God's people. There are those that because of one reason or the other, decided to take on the task by going to school to train as pastors.

How To Succeed as a Prayer Champion

For any Christian, prayer is a necessity and should be part and parcel of a Christian life. Therefore, whoever ignores prayer does that at his own risk. The Bible teaches us to watch and pray lest the enemy finds us unprepared. Jesus outmatched all His disciples in prayer and He couldn't take on a journey without it. We are His followers, and therefore, there is need for us to follow His footsteps. Now many will agree with me that, at times, they forget to pray and only remember when they are having dinner. If you are such a person, you are not alone. Many of your brothers and sisters around the globe find themselves in such situations. I am ready to share with you some tips that could help you maintain a life of prayer:

Youth is a time of life that goes a long way in determining what a person becomes in adulthood and old age. It is within this time that one discovers his real potential, and also has the opportunity to decide who he wants to be in life. Some have chosen the wrong path and ended up with regrets, while some have chosen otherwise, and have ended up with happy families. Here are some of the things to consider:

How To Create an Effective Sermon

When sitting down to develop a sermon, one has to consider many factors, but before I detail those factors, I would like to state that a sermon is very different from the stories that we write and read in other books. We should be able to draw good example from Jesus Christ our Savior. He preached messages that could cause repentance or a total turnaround in the lives of people. They were so particular and inspiring that generations down the line, the messages still can change lives. When you decide to write a sermon, it is an opportunity for you to commune with people about godly things. Here are some tips on how to develop a sermon.

When you find yourself in such a situation, or have been given the chance and you didn't perform well, follow these simple tips:

How To Remember that Jesus Loves You

Jesus has promised that he will never leave nor forsake us. Even when things are going wrong around us, his presence is guaranteed. Here are some tips to help you remember that God is always available to you:

Jesus promised that he will never leave us. Despite any difficulties you may face in life, Jesus is with you. His presence in your life serves as a foundation for your trust in him. Sometimes life may hand you some difficult times. At such times, if you know Christ in a personal way, then you will find comfort in calling upon him to come to your aid. This may involve putting your trust in him to see you through.

How To Comprehend the Holy Trinity

The Bible refers to God in three forms: God the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three make up The Holy Trinity. The Bible also indicates that there is only one God. This may seem a bit confusing, so here are some things to consider when trying to understand The Holy Trinity.

How To Explain Santa Claus to Your Kids

Tradition is something of a double-edged sword. While some of our earliest childhood memories involve the happy mystery of the jolly old elf, learning the shocking truth can be one of the earliest scars.

Now the “Happiest Time of Year” has come 'round again, and you're faced with a difficult choice: Just how do you inspire holiday cheer without actively lying to your kids? Here are some suggestions to help you walk that narrow road:

How To Find Bible Passages the Easy Way

There are literally 31,101 verses in the Holy Bible. With such a quantity, it seems impossible to be able to remember all of them. Yet, there have been some rather great people throughout history who have been able to memorize it in its entirety. Although, they were under extreme circumstances and most incidences come with divine assistance.

For instance, Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German minister who lived until 1945 when he was executed along with Jews. It is reported by survivors of the Nazi execution camps that Dietrich read the Holy Bible, while he indeed had no Bible. It is said that while he was locked in solitude, he could see it in front of him and he used it to minister to the Jews even up to his death. By the way, it was him who said, “When Christ bids you come, He bids you come and die.”

How To Learn About the Age of the Earth and the Origin of Evil from the Bible (Part II)

This is a continuation of Part I and the first paragraph below, is a repeat of that article-introduction, followed by Part II:

---

While many believe that the Bible teaches that Earth is approximately 7,000 to 10,000 years old, it in fact does not reveal this. According to many passages found in Bible scriptures, Earth is far more ancient than this.

While the Bible does not give exact details about the period of time on Earth prior to mankind, it does reveal that there was an ancient pre-adamic (before Adam) time period and that it was during this time period that evil or opposition to God originated.

---

Part II:

How To Choose Between Contemporary and Traditional Church Services

Declining membership has remained an issue for many mainstream Christian denominations. In an effort to attract and retain younger members, a number of churches have begun to offer separate contemporary services, or at least blend some contemporary elements into their traditional services. Some have even considered eliminating traditional services altogether in favor of the more dynamic and youth-oriented contemporary worship style. The results of these conversions or adaptations, however, have been decidedly mixed, with some parishioners seeking out more traditional services elsewhere. Younger members of older congregations have also migrated towards churches and worship centers with an emphasis on contemporary services. Before joining a church, it is important to understand the differences between traditional and contemporary services and which version best addresses your specific needs and lifestyle.

How To Understand Ash Wednesday

Counting backward forty days from Easter (with the exception of Sundays) is Ash Wednesday, a Christian Holiday which marks the beginning of Lent. To understand Ash Wednesday, you must first understand the following:

The history: It is thought that Ash Wednesday's roots come from as early as the sixth century. At that time, people who committed the most serious of sins, and repented and confessed to the bishop, were assigned a penance, or punishment. This penance oftentimes lasted a long period of time, so the sinner was marked by ashes and special clothing as a penitent (one who is performing a penance) and was made to sit in a different part of the church until his sin was forgiven. The rest of the congregation spent the time before Easter praying for the sinners, and that forty days became what we know as Lent.

How To Find a Good Church

As Christians, it is very important for us to find a good church. However, there are so churches around today that it can be hard to make a decision. So, how do you go about finding a good church for you and your family? Here are some things that you should do whenever you are looking for church to join.

Before you do anything else you should take some time to pray. Take time to seek the Lord's directions. After all, the Bible does teach us: "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:6)

How To Find a Good Catholic Parish

It has long been a practice in the U. S. Catholic Church to accept members into its parishes according to location. Catholics living within certain geographic areas effectively "belong" to a particular parish, though registration at the parish is required in order to officially be listed in the parish census. Many Catholics, dissatisfied with their most proximate parish but still wishing to remain within the larger Catholic community, have taken it upon themselves to literally shop around to discover a Catholic Church which is still conveniently located but which will more effectively serve their particular spiritual needs. Using this multi-step plan can help you to find the Catholic Church that best suits the special needs of you and your family.

How To Become a Catholic

In the Catholic faith, the large majority of members enter the church community through the Rite of Baptism as infants and then, in their youth, complete the full process of their initiation by receiving the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. Obviously, not all Catholics enter the faith as infants. Some determine that as adults they wish to convert from another faith or from no active faith at all and become Catholic. Adults are welcomed to join the Catholic Church by participating in a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The Rite basically adheres to five steps.

How To Capture the True Spirit of Christmas

In this day and age, the spirit of Christmas has truly become overshadowed by commercialism. With Christmas displays set up in the stores well before Halloween, it's easier than ever to get lost in the materialism of it all and lose touch with the true meaning of Christmas. If you're looking to regain some of that lost Christmas spirit, here are some tips on how to capture the true spirit of Christmas.

Spend time with your loved ones. Instead of just buying a stack of gifts for everyone on your list, spend some quality time with your family and friends. Bake cookies together or go to a Christmas show. Do something corny like sing Christmas carols together. And if there's someone that you've had a falling out with, use this season as a time to make amends. This Christmas season make the emphasis less about the presents and more about spending time with the people that you love.

How To Find Christian Karaoke

During the late 1980s, the Japanese karaoke phenomenon gained its first foothold in the United States. By the end of the 1990s, karaoke had become extremely popular as a form of entertainment, leading to the opening of numerous karaoke bars and private mobile karaoke services. Advances in technology, such as the more affordable CD+G compact discs, allowed more singers to invest in their own favorite genres of music. While the initial karaoke craze may have waned in recent years, it is still popular with amateur singers around the world.

How To Select Music for a Christian Funeral Service

Church soloists, choirs and instrumentalists are often asked to perform for grieving families and friends during Christian funeral services. This can be a challenging and somber task, especially if there is an emotional connection to the deceased. It often falls on the performers to select sacred and even secular music appropriate to the occasion, although family members may provide some guidance or suggestions. Funeral services have a natural ebb and flow, with moments of silence, solemnity and levity when appropriate. The music should incorporate all aspects of the service, from the spiritual to the commemorative.

How To Learn about Bible Translations

The original texts of the Bible were written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. They need to be translated into modern day languages for them to be understood. In English, there are many translations that those interested in reading the Bible can choose from. If you are looking for a Bible translation that appeals to you, here is a description of some of the more popular English translations.

The King James Bible (KJV) From when it was first published in 1611 until well into the 1900's, the King James Bible was the Bible for Protestants. Authorized by King James of England, its language is antiquated today, but many people still consider this the best translation. Another version, The New King James Version, removes archaic language like "thee" and "thou" to make it more readable.

How To Understand Who Wrote the Books of the Bible

The Bible is the Word of God. Christians believe that God inspired human beings to write the words that God wanted to be included in each of the books. So even though God is the author of the Bible, humans did the writing. So who did God choose to do such an important job and who wrote which books?

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number and Deuteronomy - The first five books of the Bible were written by Moses. Moses was an Israelite who was raised as Egyptian royalty. His story is well known by people of all faiths.

Joshua - Joshua was written by Joshua, an aide to Moses who eventually took over leadership of the Israelites from Moses.

Judges - The authorship of some of the books of the Bible is unclear. It is thought that perhaps Samuel, a judge, wrote Judges.

Ruth - The author of this love story is unknown.
