How To Tackle Tough Situations

Make Correct Decisions

As human beings all of us have been in and will continue to be in some tough situations in our life. But there is a solution for every problem we face. In this article let me present my Decision Making Theory. Before we begin, I have some assumptions:

  1. We all live our lives to attain God (truth) at the time of our death. (Hinduism)
  2. Every action (everything we do) of ours has a '+' or a '-' i.e, We either accumulate Punya (Meritoriousness, Goodness)  or Paapa(Sins).
  3. The solution to get the '+' out of every action is making a correct decision.
  4. The '+' & '-' are to be measured in equal denomination. i.e, If I say you lose less than you gain, I mean you are losing less than whatever you were gaining.

There are basically 6 types of situations and how to solve them.

  1. Situation 1. By doing something you gain & by not doing it you lose.
  2. Situation 2. By doing something you lose & by not doing it you gain.
  3. Situation 3. By doing something you gain & by not doing it you gain more. By doing something you gain & by not doing it you gain less.
  4. Situation 4. By doing something you lose & by not doing it you lose more. By doing something you lose & by not doing it you lose less.
  5. Situation 5. By doing something you gain & by not doing it you gain equally.
  6. Situation 6. By doing something you lose & by not doing it you lose equally.

Here it is to be noted that gaining refers to Punya & losing refers to Paapa and not material wealth.

Solutions:

In the situations 1 & 2 it is very easy to make a right decision as you know what is right & what is wrong.

In the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th situations you are actually free to do whatever you like.

Here it is to be noted that the 4th & 6th situation is only faced by people who have taken wrong decisions previously. In this situation you are advised to take guidelines from an experienced person.
