We do not always know why bad things happen. It is so easy to lose faith, when you feel God has forsaken you. But always remember he is as near to you as your next breath. Just close your eyes and feel His presence. Do not give into despair; the Lord your God won't leave you.

Here are some steps that you too can take to remember God during times of loss:

  1. Read scriptures. If you are not sure where to start simply look in Your Concordance to find Topics relative to the Way You are Feeling.
  2. Join a support group that deals with coping after the loss of a loved one. You will be surprised at how many different support groups your community and church already have, this may take some research but will be well worth it.
  3. Talk with your Pastor and people at church so they can be praying for you. The Bible instructs us in James 5:16 KJV, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." This even means when our faith is at its weakest.
  4. Do not stop accepting visitors. It is important to not shut family and friends out. In fact the Bible tells in James 1:27 KJV, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
  5. Pray and seek God's guidance... Many times people forget that God is closer to us during prayer. The scripture says, "Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you." -- James 4:8 KJV.

Remember Revelation 21:4 -- "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." KJV

It was two in the morning when the doctor came in he said, "My child, a boy, was dead." I asked, "Why mine of All the rest when it was God who did bless?" He continued on by saying that the Angels came and took him home and to remember to God they all belong. I repeated that this I knew, but why did God have to prepare mine a room?

I had such plans for this little one but now all have faded since the Angels came to take him home. But wait... This my child is the grandest of all. I may never be able to see him or watch him crawl yet I Know he is safe as long as he is in Gods home.

I wrote this poem several years ago for a friend when she had a miscarriage. She was so devastated at her loss. She kept this poem on her refrigerator to help her during difficult times. Several years later she went on to have two healthy children.
