Snooker is played on a large table so it is essential to find the optimum location. Learn what to consider when choosing the right location for your snooker table.

Snooker is a fun and exciting billiard or cue-type game that originated in England. Like pool, and other billiard games, the table can be very large in size (up to 6" x 12" for a regulation sized table). Because the game is played on such a large table, it is essential that an owner of a table find the optimum location for the table. The reason such a location must be determined is because not only is the table large, but even more room is needed during play when an opponent takes a shot, not to mention even more room when taking shots from a corner of the table. To choose the right location for your snooker table, simply:

Step 1:

Select the right room for the snooker table. This must be a room that has enough room for the table. The room for the table must not only be large enough to fit the table but have more compensation for play on each side; you will need at least 10" x 14" (or 4 additional feet of floor space extending from each side).

Step 2:

Make sure the room is one that is not too close to a bedroom or room that is used for quiet time of any kind. The sound of the game might disturb other members of the household; this should be taken into consideration.

Step 3:

Make sure the specific location for your snooker table must be free of any rugs or surfaces that would cause sliding when an opponent takes a shot.

Step 4:

When the snooker table is in place in the perfect spot, check each edge of the table and make sure that there are no delicate objects that can be broken in case a ball accidentally comes off the table or the player takes a really wide shot.

Failing to choose the right location for your snooker table can result in a horrible game of snooker due to the decrease in shot availability when playing in a room of inadequate size. One cannot have a good game of snooker if the table is in an area that is not large enough. In addition, the table can be very heavy and bulky; so, not taking time to make sure the area is big enough will result in the owner having to move the large table more than once.
