Now that you have decided to join the National Rifle Association, you will have a few simple processes to complete and a few simple decisions to make. By joining the NRA you are providing yourself with the opportunity to have your voice heard through a national organization that is working hard to support and protect your Constitutional rights. There are several ways that one may join this great organization.
- One method of joining the NRA is to simply visit the NRA website at nra.org and complete the online application process. You will need to have your basic data: name, address, date of birth, email address (optional), phone number and a credit card to pay for your dues.
- Another method for joining the NRA is by calling their toll free number for membership participation at 1-877-NRA-2000. Here you will be put in touch with a live operator that will take the same membership information needed to complete the online process.
- You may also join the NRA by mail. You can usually get application information sent to you, or it is often located in many firearm magazines and publications. By using this method you need simply complete the application form and enclose either your credit card information or a check for the amount of your dues and put it in the mail.
The same information is needed regardless of methods used, the only real differences are that you have the option of submitting payment in the form of a check by choosing the mail, and the wait time to have your application processed will also be delayed by the mail method as well, but other than that nothing is different. You will still receive all of the same benefits and free membership gifts as other members joining at that time.
Once you have decided on the method for submitting your application, you then have a few things that you need to decide upon. One thing is what duration you would like to have your membership approved for. The duration periods for memberships are 1, 2, 3, or 5 years. The NRA also offers a lifetime membership that can be paid for all at once or on an installment plan. Once you have decided on your membership duration, you will have the opportunity to choose which of the NRA sponsored publications you would like to receive your complementary subscription to. These periodical include American Rifleman, American Hunter, America's First Freedom and for junior members, Insights.
Now you are on your way to becoming a member of a powerful organization that is looking at using its influence to support your firearm rights.
