Your day of winter fun has come to an end, and it's time to head home for a much anticipated pair of dry socks.  But before you begin dreaming for warm feet, you have one more hurdle to jump:  loading your toys.  If you have a snowmobile, and are not quite sure how to get it loaded and ready for home, then here are the steps you'll need to take to trailer a snowmobile.

First, drive your snowmobile and park it about ten feet from your trailer.  It's a good idea to find a dry piece of concrete of asphalt to attempt the following maneuver.  Next, take your ramp and place one end on the ground, and the other on the edge of the trailer.  Next, drive your snowmobile and leave it, with the engine running, so the front end is lined up with the edge of the ramp.  Now it's time to jump back onto the machine and slowly ride it back up onto the trailer.  It won't take too much acceleration to accomplish this feat.  Just give your snowmobile a little gas, and gently glide it back onto the trailer.  The last step is to put the snowmobile's parking brake on, and tie the machine down to the trailer.

In the unfortunate event that your ramp is broken, lost, or stolen, you'll need to find an alternative answer to how to trailer a snowmobile.  There are other methods that can be attempted, but they aren't always very effective.  One idea is to use a nearby, snow covered ditch.  The idea here is to use the incline of the ditch as a ramp to load the trailer.  This can work, but you run the risk of requiring a tow when your truck, trailer, and snowmobile all become trapped in the ditch.

Another method you can attempt is pretty exhausting, so you might want to ask friends for assistance.  The idea here is to make a ramp out of a giant mound of snow.  Take anything that you can find handy to begin shoveling snow behind the trailer.  Now comes the tricky part. You'll have to mold the snow into an incline, and make it dense enough, to hold the weight of your snowmobile.  If neither of these final suggestions are successful, then you will have to depend on the kindness of strangers, and simply ask to borrow someone's ramp.  In return, offer them that pair of warm socks you've been looking forward to!
