The old man insisted that prior to the arrival of the Spaniards, the ancients worshipped Christ, and that evidence of this could be found through the symbols of the Sanctuary, which was located in Alta Vista. As was the case with many legends or rumors, the old man confirmed that he had not actually visited the Sanctuary, but that he had “heard” about this when he was a young man.
