Moving can be a very stressful event in one's life. There are so many things to consider, such as new school systems, new jobs, new neighbors, and new community resources. However, one part of the move that can be handled in a stress free manner is the truck rental for moving all of your belongings. If an individual researches his or her options, he or she can find the right rental truck for his or her needs.

The first thing a person will want to consider when renting a moving truck is what the requirements for driving the particular vehicle are. For instance, U-Haul and Penske only require an individual to be eighteen years of age and have a valid driver’s license, while Budget requires an individual to be twenty-four years of age with a valid driver’s license. However, if an individual is willing to pay an extra $18 per day, he or she can be between the ages of twenty-one and twenty-three with a valid drivers license.

After determining if you reach the age requirement for renting a moving truck rental, an individual must figure out how he or she is going to pay for the rental. All places will take a credit or debit card, while some places will take cash or personal checks. Therefore, an individual's best bet is to have a credit or debit card with himself or herself.

After finding out how old an individual is and how to pay for the rental truck, a person will want to consider what size of moving truck he or she will need. Some available sizes are as followed: pick-up truck, cargo van, ten foot truck, fourteen foot truck, sixteen foot truck, seventeen foot truck, twenty-two foot truck, twenty-four foot truck, or twenty-six foot truck. You will not want to get one any bigger than you need, but do make sure that you get the moving truck in a size that will hold all of your belongings safely, without them getting broken.

After determining the size of rental truck that you will need, you will need to decide what moving company to rent from. A few that are available are as followed: Budget Truck Rental, Penske, and U-Haul. An individual may make this choice based upon several different factors. First, you will want to ask each company what size rental trucks they have. If multiple companies have the size that you need, then you may want to go with the company that is having a deal on their rental trucks at the time of your move.

Another decision that needs to be made when renting a moving truck is whether or not the person wants a one-way rental.  The other option is to return the truck to its original location. This decision will obviously be one of common sense. If you are moving a long distance, then you will want to get a one-way rental truck, but if not, then you will want to return it to its original location.
