Set up your budget. Take a look at how much money you have to play with for spring break and what is a reasonable amount to spend. This will help you determine what you can and cannot do. Stick to the budget.
Plan how to spend your money. Now that you have an idea of how much money you are willing to spend on spring break, you need to come up with an overall plan of how you are going to spread it out. What are you going to spend on transportation? What are you going to spend on housing? What are you going to spend on entertainment and food? This will break down you budget more clearly and allow you to understand what you are spending and where.
Consider carpooling. In order to cut down on your transportation budget, do not even think about flying, or for that matter driving alone. Try to set up a carpool with a few people who are going with you. This way you all can split the cost of gas and any other transportation expenses.
Share a hotel room. Trying to get as many people as you can into a hotel room may sound like a great way to save money, but it really is not reasonable. Most hotels will allow a maximum of four adults per room. Try to get four people to a room, that way you can still sleep comfortably and save money on the room cost.
Buy food from a grocery store. Do not expect to be able to go out every night for dinner if you are really trying to cut costs. Instead, when you first get to your destination, go to the local grocery store and buy food that you can prepare in the hotel room. This will surely help save money.
