Getting to Manchester Airport is a quick drive from the M56 motorway at the 5th junction. You can also take the train service, which runs from the airport to the Piccadilly station in Manchester six times every hour, and train travel takes about twenty minutes.

There are three main terminals in Manchester Airport. Terminals 1 and 3 are located in the same building complex, and are separated by a corridor. Terminal 2 is housed in a separate building, and is accessible via Manchester Airport's Train Station, which connects all three terminals, and which in turn is connected by a number of moving walkways and skywalks.

Terminals 1 and 2 open at 0230-2300, while Terminal 3 opens at 0500-2100.

There are a number of passenger lounges in Manchester Airport. The Bollin Lounge is located in Terminal 1, while Terminal 2 houses Escape, the Styal Lounge, the Air France Executive Lounge and the Delta Executive Lounge. In Terminal 3, you will find the BMI Executive Lounge, the BA Terraces Lounge and the Flybe Lounge.

Shower and Leisure facilities can also be found at the Manchester Airport. The Radisson SAS Hotel in the airport offers a quick shower and change service located in Terminal 2, and is connected to all other terminals via an elevated walkway. Shower and change services are available at £6.50 per person, while additional leisure facilities are available at £12.00 per person. These services are open from Mondays to Fridays at 6am, while for Saturdays and Sundays, at 8am. The Radisson SAS Hotel, a five-star hotel, is connected to terminals One and Two by a covered walkway.

Terminals 1 and 2 also house the Food Village and the Real Food Company, which offer sumptuous passenger's meals at very low prices. There are also children's play-areas in both establishments, and baby-changing facilities can be found across All terminals.

Boots pharmacies can be found in Terminals 1 and 2, right before the security area. Should you need any medication prior to leaving the airport, make sure to stop by. Any liquids, creams or gels over 100ml will not be allowed through security.

The airport has two multi-faith prayer rooms, located in terminals 2 and 3. These are open to all passengers twenty-four hours a day and the prayer room in Terminal 2 can be found on the main departures concourse.

All three terminals at Manchester Airport offer wireless Internet access to passengers in cafes and other seating areas. Their provider is T-Mobile Wireless Hotspot, so you will have to pay to use the Internet connection.

Ground transportation is quite easy from Manchester Airport. There are a number of taxi bays outside each terminal, and a ride into Manchester city itself will take around 35 minutes. Buses to Manchester City, on the other hand, will take 15 to 20 minutes. The bus station can be found right by Terminal 1's International Arrivals area, and stops by Terminal 2's arrival area, before speeding off towards Manchester City. Trains to London Euston station travel four times a day. This is a three-hour trip, and you can board at the airport's station.
