How To Rent a Vacation Cabin at Mountain Resorts

Are you raring to go on a much needed break?  Why not try renting a cabin at one of the many mountain resorts in the country?  Instead of staying in a hotel, you can rent a cabin for a quiet and secluded vacation.  They are perfect for vacationers who want to be close to Mother Nature and feel they are on their own.  You can go in the summer or enjoy a log cabin respite in winter. 

If you plan to rent a cabin, one of the things you have to consider first is your budget.  How much are you willing to spend on your vacation?  Once you have established this, then you can figure out where you want to go and what are your requirements. To rent a vacation cabin at mountain resorts, follow these steps:

3. Cabin size.  Decide on how big you want the cabin.  This would also be based on what you are willing to spend.  There are one-bedroom cabins to cabins with several rooms for a bigger group of vacationers.
4. Amenities.  You can either rough it or have some of the comforts of home even if you’re in the wilderness.  There are many lodge resorts that offer luxury items like wide-screen television sets, high-speed internet access, hot tubs, Jacuzzis, and well stocked mini-bars.  Some cabins have fully functional kitchens, outdoor barbecue facilities as well as laundry facilities.
5. Availability of staff.  Find out how accessible the on-site staff are in case you choose a cabin in the middle of the forest.  Being in the middle of nowhere in a mountain resort doesn’t really mean that you are all alone.  There are on-site personnel that should be available 24/7.  Make sure you know how to get in touch with them at a moment’s notice.

Not all cabins are rented out by summer hotels or winter resorts.  Some are privately owned on a mountain near town.  Don’t be afraid to ask the owners the same questions that you might ask the resort reservations personnel.  Do not assume that all rentals are the same.
