How To Visit the Space Needle

Seattle has many fabulous attractions, but one of the most breathtaking is the view from the top of the Space Needle. While the exciting ride to the observation deck on board the Space Needle elevator is thrilling in itself, the vistas from the deck are unparalleled. There is no better place to take in the Seattle skyline and the amazing views of the Pacific Northwest coastal highlights and beautiful mountain ranges. The sights are incredible, both day and night.

For those who want more than to just stand on top of such a magnificent structure, the SkyCity restaurant is an absolute must. This restaurant sits atop the Space Needle on a rotating platform. Of course, the food is great, but the ambiance is the real attraction here! SkyCity is the perfect location for a first date, a romantic dinner to celebrate your loved one, or even to ask someone to be yours forever. The options are endless with the majestic beauty of Seattle and the Cascade mountains in the distance.

On your way to the Space Needle, be sure to keep in mind that this a popular place to visit and the line to access the elevator may have a wait. Fortunately, the elevators travel the five hundred plus feet in less than a minute under normal weather conditions, so once you are in the elevator, you are just seconds away from one of the most amazing sights of your life. There are 848 steps to the observation deck if you are feeling really energetic. The Space Needle is open year-round and often hosts special events, so be sure to check their calendar of events.

Don't be concerned about parking. There is a lot onsite with valet service that is reasonably priced. However, if you are coming with a group, your bus will easily be accommodated. Your group may be eligible for a discount, so call ahead to see what the friendly customer service at the Space Needle can do for you.

The Space Needle has a special program for children. Learning has never been so exciting, as it is five hundred plus feet above the bustling city below. The program is called SkySchool and is geared toward school aged children.

Before you head home from the Space Needle, take a few minutes to check out the gift shop SpaceBase. You will definitely want to take home a great souvenir from such an exciting visit!
