How To Make Cinnamon Rolls


  • 2 cups milk, scalded and cooled.
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted shortening
  • 2 dry yeast cakes
  • cinnamon
  • oleo (or margarine)


  1. Put yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and stir until dissolved.
  2. Add milk, salt, sugar and shortening.
  3. Add flour until mixture becomes a hard ball (about 5 cups).
  4. Put into greased bowl and let rise until doubled (about an hour).
  5. Put on board and roll out thin.
  6. Put oleo (or margarine) on dough, cover with brown sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  7. Roll up and cut with knife.  Put in pan greased with oleo (margarine).
  8. Let rise 30 min.
  9. Bake at 375 F degrees for about 30 min.
