How To Make Earl Grey Cookies


  • 2 tbsp earl grey tea leaves
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar


  1. With a mortar and pestle, grind tea leaves until fine.

  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine ground tea, flour, and salt together.

  3. Beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  4. Gradually add flour mixture to the mixer, and process until dough just forms.

  5. On a floured surface, roll dough into two logs, and wrap with plastic wrap.

  6. Freeze for about an hour.

  7. Preheat oven 350 degrees F.

  8. Slice dough logs into ¼" slices, and set on cookie sheet about 1" apart.

  9. Bake one sheet at a time for about 13-15 minutes.
