William has a diverse family background and has lived in the three largest cities in the United States. Having an American father and a Jamaican mother meant that William made frequent trips to the Caribbean all his life. He was born in Los Angeles, and his family later moved to Brooklyn, and eventually settled in Chicago. Being an only child whose family moved around so much made it difficult for William to maintain friendships. Consequently, he developed a love of reading and collecting comic books (thanks to his mother), and an uncanny aptitude for playing video games. William has been collecting comic books for about 30 years and even worked in the comic book industry for over six years. He currently has somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 comic books. He has also been a video game enthusiast since 1977 when the ATARI 2600 hit the store shelves, and over the years he has owned and/or played games from nearly every genre on almost every home gaming system. Outside of these interests, William is very passionate about his faith, knowledgeable about the Bible, and active in his church. He has taught Sunday school classes with young adults, and facilitated regular home-based Bible studies. William has been a professional grant writer for nearly ten years, and he is currently a freelance writer and consultant.
