Jan Goldfield founded and operated a pond design/build company for almost twenty years until her retirement in early 2006. Since then she has been a free lance writer and photographer. Her specialty is ponds and gardens, but also she delves into disaster survival after surviving Hurricane Katrina and into household repairs because early adult poverty teaches one how to fix almost anything. Jan has been writing since typewriters were not yet electric, so has printer's ink for blood. She also runs two interactive web forums: pondlady.com and gardenersgumbo.com where members exchange information.
