Sadaf Farooqi is a Muslimah writing from Karachi, Pakistan. She is married, and a mother of two kids under the age of five. She graduated in the field of Computer Science (software engineering) from NUCES. Following her post-graduate Masters in the same field, she studied the Quran and sunnah at Al-Huda International, Institute of Islamic Education for Women. After finishing her studies at Al-Huda, she continues to teach Islamic subjects there to women of all ages, such as The Book of Zakaah, The Muslim Belief (Aqeedah), Arabic Grammar, and Science of Hadith. She contributes articles regularly to Hiba Magazine, SISTERS Magazine, Saudi Gazette, and MuslimMatters.org. In her spare time, she reads extensively on the Internet, leaves comments on blogs, and expresses her opinions on her personal space.
I get inspired by personal experiences based on social interaction. Everyday problems and their workable solutions inspire me to write in order to be able to help those who face similar situations in their own lives. My faith - Islam - inspires me to use all available means to be of benefit to others.
I wrote short stories and poetry as a child, and found essay-writing for O and A Level examinations more of a pleasure than a challenge. During college, I wrote for the annual students' publication. Currently, I write primarily about what enriches and emboldens me: my faith in Allah, and the grossly misunderstood religion of Islam. I also enjoy writing about parenting and family-oriented issues.
