For generations, Jews all over the world have dreamt about the land of Israel. And above all, it is capital—Jerusalem, which has always been in their, and their thoughts, and in their prayers. In our days spending time in Israel and Jerusalem is reality which provides a unique lifetime spiritual experience and an effective way of connecting to one’s routes. Israel has assumed the central place in the culture and religious identity of Jews wherever they live. Sarah: Hi my name is Sarah, and I am from Canada. Ezra: My name Ezra and I am from Domini. Saffra: And I am Saffra, the only from LA. Jennifer: My name is Jennifer, I am from New York. Alex Price: A Bar Mitzvah is the first time you ever get to read from the Torah and it is a big experience when you do it in Israel, so I am happy I get to do it here. Today more than ever, it is clear that a visit to Israel fulfills of basic and significant role in deepening and strengthening the foundations of a person’s Jewish identity. With this in mind, many families choose to give their children the distinctive gift of a trip to Israel around the time that they celebrating their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Dorin Kalmeyer: Our boys wanted to come to Israel and we were always coming in any conditions and it has been fantastic. Adam Kalmeyer: It is nice that you have it in Israel because it is the center of our religion. Dr. Jeff Kalmeyer: He is very aware of his Jewishness, I think from his previous school and he never ever wanted anything else but to have it in Israel—that is what he wanted all the time. Dorin: Having ahead the ceremony inside the tunnels, nowhere in the world could I have felt like I felt this morning. It was just phenomenal. A family visit or organized tour can insure that the experience of having a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Israel will affect their children throughout the rest of their life. Lea Yadgar: Massada, symbolizes the history of the Jews. It is like the statue of Liberty for America and I can think it is a really big privilege to have your Bar Mitzvah on top of Massada. Mary Sayf: This trip has affected my kids in their Jewish ‘ordainity’ because they have all learned so much about their heritage. I know, it is affecting each one of them and I think the changes will be there even when we go home. Stuart Sayf: And of course we also squeeze in a little bit recreation with the trip too. Any trip to Israel allows to visit or to enjoy all the advantages that the country has to offer—a large variety of accommodations, gourmet Middle Eastern and Western cuisine, and convenient transportation across the country. Museums, beaches, hikes, sports, and shopping malls are just some of a many attractions and holiday styles available for all the family. Sarah: I am so happy to be in Israel, it is beautifully here, and I love it. Female: I am so, so excited to be here. Mother: It has been educational, fun, adventurous, tiring, exhilarating, and fulfilling. So we are very happy that were here. Steven Sayf: It is leaving a lasting impression to my grand children and my children, and my wife and I.
