Hi, I am Steve Terrano and welcome to this edition of body performance. We here at body performance want to help you understand weight loss by separating fact from fiction. With that being said, let me give you some advice.
It makes no difference when you eat your food throughout the day as it relates to weight gain or weight loss. You can eat all your food in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening or throughout the day, it will not make any difference in the amount of weight you gain. It is still the total number of calories you eat throughout the day, not when you eat those calories.
So if you are snacking at night and you are putting on weight, it is not because you are eating at night. Your body does not know the difference between 7:00 in the evening, or 9:00 in the evening, it is simply because you are adding additional calories to your daily calorie consumption. If you get hungry in the evening, simply move dinner back an hour or an hour and a half. That will help curb your cravings and it will help prevent you from eating additional food, not because eating late at night is bad but simply because it adds to the total number of calories you are eating throughout the day.
I will see you later, love your body.
