Welcome to this subset of body performance, I am Steve Terrano. Today I want to talk to you about cheating when you are on your diet. I am going to tell you this. Cheating and dieting go hand in hand. Cheating on your diet is a necessary part of your diet. Here is why. You cannot diet 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the rest of your life. That is not realistic. It is not that fun. You have got to have some bread, you have got to have some pasta, you have got to have some cheesecake, that is what life is all about. When you cheat on your diet, you should not feel guilty, you should not get depressed because it is part of living. The other aspect about dieting is this, when you are dieting, again, you hit these five thoughts because your body thinks I am starving, I better record the calories around my waist. I better slow my metabolism down because I am not sure when I am going to eat again. When you cheat once a week, it gives your body some additional calories, it gives your body some additional fat. Your body then gets fooled into thinking, wow, Steve is eating again. I do not have to worry about conserving the fat around my waist. I do not have to slow my metabolism down because he is feeding me. That is what cheating does. It fools your body into thinking that it is not dieting so again, cheating does two things. It saves you mentally, you do not have to worry about feeling guilty or depressed. You are expected to have one day of good eating. The other thing it does is it fools your body into thinking it is not dieting. Therefore, it gives up those last few pounds so do not worry about cheating. If it takes a couple of extra days to reach your target or a couple of extra weeks to reach your target weight loss, that is fine, all you have is time. I will see you later, love your body.
