I simply do not understand how intelligent people can not believe evolution you have to not read the newspaper, you have to not read any journals, have to close your mind off to everything that is intelligent why I want to say this well when I was in young grade orthodox days school I brought of a book about dinosaur and my teacher scoff and said oh though are put here test our faith, the world is only 5,700 years old even as a little kid I know that was stupid, the world is a billion of years old in order not to believe that you have to close yourself off to all intelligent. Now if people are threaten by the first chapter of genesis say oh how could! A bible is a lie I mean if God said made the world 7 days it must be seven days is a complete idiotic idea. The book of genesis never say a scientific book in fact no joke about this where somebody says to God that how long to you the second billion years and how much to you a penny in our terms? And God says a billion dollar, the fellow says to God can I have your penny God says in a second. How we know from a day from God according to a Torah first chapter of genesis is our day it more likely billion years and so when scientist tell us the world is 20 billion years old we juts discover I think it was a planet 20 million light years a way, 20 light years away you able to visit probably sometime in the future that does not contradict anything about faith it just nonsense and why people are so threaten to the fact that we evolve from lower organism in fact the torah says God created us but is clearly this evolutionary pattern with things building up you know have to take the bible literally is not meant to be scientific book is meant to teach the most basic ideas about life and about humanity and so as we think about this in Jewish terms you are jack the fanatics and the fundamentalist and simply thinks preposterous to suggest that the world did not evolve everything evolves in life in fact very interesting that in the discussion among ten presidential hopeful in the 2007 first presidential republican candidate debate the moderator ask how of many of them did not believe in evolution and three out 10 actually race their hands but another huge percentage of Americans who believe in creationism but it just completely nonsense and I am a very religious person, many religious people do not necessarily believe that the world is created exactly precisely to the minute in day that the genesis chapter 1 say it is simply because a 24 hour day for us could be a billionaires in fact this supposed plan that was just suggested by science basing gravitational pull 20 light years away well there annual year is 13 days so the editorial on the paper how long his Christmas 15 minutes who knows what kind of cycle God lives on it so the day for God easily could be billion of years I believe Einstein did that there is Aristotle, there a created force that is started the universe but to go from there to saying for every single letter of genesis chapter 1 is scientific is true and just completely nonsense and unnecessary. You can deeply devote on religious person as conceivable still accept the tentative science that is the part of beauty of Judaism of intelligent Judaism. We say in the end of our holiest (foreign language) God is the God of emet of truth. Do you know about emet? The word emet it behalf the first letter of the alphabet aleph, the middle letter of the alphabet mem and the last letter of the alphabet tof because God contain all wisdom and all truth has contain in God and there fore we believe that God is the God of truth and as many very important Rabbiis through out Jews history have said there nothing that can ever be discover in science that contra din and contradict the basic tenants of Judaism because Judaism ultimately says we believe in truth as a human being giving brain by Gods to discover the truth we continue to go where science takes us to not only not contradict religion but to enhance religion.
