The truth about eating at night myths

Video Transcription

I am Steve Turano, welcome to this episode of Body Performance. People are still asking Steve, “I know I can eat at night but I know I can eat right after the bed because I eat for your bed it will turn into fat right”. “No wrong, it is still creating a calorie deficit or a calorie surface for the day. Most people are in equilibrium, they eat about as much as they burn out. Now, if you ate a ton of food through out the day and you need anything after 5:00 which you did not create a calorie deficit or you were not eating equilibrium, you can go bed without eating and essentially still gain weight or if you ate right before you went to bed but you are busy all day long and you do not have a chance to eat you essentially have created a calorie deficit, so eating at night would not be that big a deal. You also have to remember this that we are just not that active through out the day to really make a difference. I mean you have to walk 35 miles in a very fast pace to burn 1 pound that is a lot of activity, that certainly as to compared to any of the activities that we have in our normal daily lives, typing on our computer, sitting, reading and answer phones. So it really does not make much of a different whether you eat go back to the office or eat hang out to tonight, and go to bed there is not too much difference there. So stop worrying about when you eat your food, again it still how much you eat and how much you do. Love your body.
