David was constructed by Michelangelo out of the leftover block of marble originating from the Carrara mountains. Completed in 1504 and standing tall at 5.49 meters. This is the most recognized statue in the history of art. #2 Opificio delle Pietre Dure. This museum is known for housing works of art under the category of scagolia, which was invented in Florence. Scagolia is the art of creating objects using semi-precious stones. The works at this museum correspond to events in life and is a dedication to the century-old art. The museum also shows the equipment and tools that Renaissance artisans used to create these remarkable works. The collection in this museum is small but the pieces are excellent. #3 The Antique Silk Factory of Florence. The only silk factory in Florence which came into existence over two centuries ago.
