Scott Straub here. Today, I am want to show you how to make a great looking notebook cover. So, your notebooks can go from this to this in minutes. What we are going to be using to create this is Microsoft Word. Now, if you are Mac user. Sorry, I believe you have a similar program but I do not know much about it. But in Microsoft Word is pretty easy. Might be easier in Mac. I do not know. But we are going to show you how to do it in Microsoft Word. So, what I we are going to do. So just cut open up a Microsoft Word Document, very simple. Now, this is Microsoft Word 2007, I know 2003 which is a previous version I had was a little bit different in this but it is still the same thing. In 2007, you just going to hit insert WordArt, then you get to choose from a whole bunch to different patterns does not matter which one whatever one you like. In this case, we are going to choose this pattern. Let us see we are making a history cover. Just type in history, hit okay and it is really nice because you can just resize it whatever you want. Make it bigger if you go back to the home and hit the center button to center it. Now let us say purple is not your color you simply right click, hit formats this is color let us say you want to make red, let us put red in there that will work on nice, excellent. Now, in order to insert images into a Microsoft Word Document that is pretty simple too. Once again you hit insert, picture imagine that and you can just find the picture in this case we are going to insert this picture right here. You can resize it. Now, keep on eye if you save an image that is really small and you resize it bigger it is going to distort the image so a lot of time is better to insert a larger picture and then make it smaller but in this case this will be fine. Whenever I have my student make a notebook cover. I always tell them to put their name somewhere on there usually on the lower right but whatever feels right so you can John Hamilton. To Mr. Straub and if you want to make that bigger considerably do that very simple to do. And here you have a great looking notebook cover if you simply print it out. In fact I will show you what paper I used to print it out on if you printed out using heavy weight paper this is Aster bright card stock this is a 65 weight paper. It is heavy paper as it feels a post card paper. If you use this paper, let me just go back and in this selection you get multiple colors very bright colors, although it get white and blue and regular colors. I like to use bright colors to just stand out but whatever you choose to use. You can make great notebook covers that look like this in the snap. Hope you enjoy.
