If you are the parents of a school aged child, you know how important it is to buy just the right school supplies. And today, there are even more choices for school supplies made out of recycled content. The line is called Sasquatch, Leave Nothing But Tracks and the composition books, notebooks, even the folders are made up of 100% recycled content. My son is going into third grade this year and my daughter seventh grade. And I found a line of eco-friendly school supplies that they both love and it's going to be an easy way for us to do our part, the entire school year. Choosing products made with recycled content is a smart choice. For every two thousand pounds of recycled paper we buy, we save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 4000 kilowatts of energy and 7000 gallons of water. And don't forget about pens and pencils. Pencils of recycled content are much easier to find, actually these are made out of recycled tires, and refillable pens and pencils are always going to be a much better option than the disposable variety. You can also find cases that are PVC free or made from recycled content. The greenest option for back-to-school shopping is to reuse items your kids already own. Take stack of things like bagpacks, binders, scissors, maybe even highlighters, and the used items that they already have in their desk stores. Smart back-to-school shopping is just another easy way that you and your kids can reduce your eco-footprint every day of the school year.
