how I cut my bangs and layer my hair

the before: get ready and beware
Basically what I am trying to show you in this long clip is I took that bun and my hair is a hot mess!
My hair is wash and blowdried now
I sectioned out a piece where I want my bang to be. As you can see, I really don’t care if its not 100% perfect. I’m not that picky.
it is flatironed a little bit, bang are untouched
So for layers. section off some hair from ear to ear, however much hair you want to be in the longest layer. All hair not Sectioned off, comb it all up straight in the air then cut, estimate where you want your midlayers to hit. dont cut too much because you can always do more later.
I hope you can understand what I am trying to show you, cut above your fingers.

you will now have mid layers, real subtle. I want to do it 1 more time because i want more layers
so i picked some hair up near my crown, leaving more out in the back and sides since that part has the layers i just made
the part around my crown i combed straight up in the air and visualized where i wanted my
shortest layer, then i cut again the same as before. cutting above my fingers

you will now see that i have a little more subtle layers, a little more body. you can be more drastic with this if you want
all the hair i cut off so far
take the ponytial holder off your bangs and comb them down. almost like a mushroom but remember the borders of where you want your bangs to be
I am showing you that i am cutting a lot of hair but still not the whole bang i want to end up with and i am cutting at an angle shorter in the middle longer at end in case i want to end there and have that bangs swoop
the hair under my finger is gone
too long, not what I want, time to press on
excuse the ugly face. now see i am just estimating to cut more off, still not where I plan on having the bangs
do a little at a time
what i’m showing you in the next clip is always take a piece of hair you just cut and add it with the uncut hair so you will know how much to cut on the uncut pieces, work from one side to the other slow
these are still too long for me
so i did a little more, they are crooked but close to what I want because I want blunt bangs
the next clip is super close. only minor minor snips. i wont do too many more cuts because it doesnt have to be perfect and when you try to make them perfect, thats how you over estimate and overcorrect
see i dont think this is too too bad for what i am trying to achieve
trying to show you that if you dont like blunt. keep them a lil longer than you want, hold the scissors like i am and make the criss cross small snips only to the ends of your bangs and they will look less harsh or less “blunt”
this was the hardest tutorial that i have ever
did. i am almost positive that its confusing and wont help anyone, if it does I am so happy for you. i would be happy to answer anyquestions that may arise!
