I always say that genetics are a strong thing. Aside from the obvious attributes: physical characteristics, personality traits and quirks, health… I am a living testament that the apple doesn’t “falleth” far from the tree. Meet Dave (Dad).

Female Speaker: This is a beautiful Christmas vignette. As you're setting up for the holidays and looking for different things to do, you don't consider small side-tables besides your Christmas tree, your mantels, the typical places that you would set things up. Other ideas like this are really great and it's a fun place to tuck all those extra little things that you might have in your basement or adit. I know dad that you set this up, I just asked mom what the story was. So I love how you put it together, what was your whole thought. Male Speaker: You know what I find so interesting about it is that anybody can do. These are items that we've collected over the years. So you can really use a lot of items that you can find at sales, at auctions, weekend sales that you might have in your local area where you live and everything else. That's basically what we've kind of done, and that is just, use your imagination start piling the stuff on. I used to try and overdo it and then I kind of select what I want and get a little balance to it and everything else. I don't always use everything that I've put there but I just think it's a fun way to show off a few things that you have over the holidays, my grandchildren, Gracie's children, my elder daughter and son's children, they just enjoy the stuff so much to -- that's a curiosity to them. So it's a pleasure to do it and it's heck, the fun of the holidays. Female Speaker: And there is some neat little things here, these little trees you can find at sort of craft stores and that kind of thing. Male Speaker: Absolutely. Female Speaker: They are so pretty, but then also look at the highs and lows in here. Again, I think, it's so pretty that they've mixed in wonderful English antique and then these are darn little camels, those are my grandmother's, and then this sweet paper nativity set. It's so fun, an unusual mix into it, but then on top of it, in the back here, I think, it's fun to see this beautiful kickstand here with the antique piece on it and a beautiful little book and I even love that they have a cloche tucked back in here with a little scene under it. The fun thing about creating vignettes like this is for you or your family or company that might be coming over the holidays like my dad said, the interesting thing is, you're adding all these layers and then it sort of becomes the discovery for anyone who happens upon it. They want to see all the little layers and things and even great, always consider some kind of light source, anytime you're creating a vignette such as a pretty lamb or some little camel. There's something that adds a little sprinkle or a little glimmer if you like, put a little Christmas like behind it but it's just a great layer. So hopefully, this will inspire a little vignette in your home this holiday.
