Jeff: ACT and the SAT are probably the most important things that you will be taking, I mean in your high school career because those numbers will pretty much follow you through college and they determine what college you will get in to. Edward: I know a lot of people who like went in like “Oh, it is just a basic test” and it is really not. Mike: At the end of the day, most colleges blow you down to a test score and a GPA. We would like to think that, how well rounded we are, how great we are, how many activities we did, or how involved we were in the community. Your test score is unbelievably important. Mallory: I did not do an SAT prep and I did not say I got a bad score but it could have been so much better if I just buckled down and took the SAT prep. I say, study for it. Ngozi: For the ACT and SAT, I would definitely recommend that they take prep classes because they help a lot and also, the teachers that are teaching the prep classes know what is going to be in the test. They know what to tell you, to like review and getting the books and just doing practice tests and using it over and over. There is basically the same type of information. You are just practicing it and knowing what is going to be there and knowing what to expect. I think that helps a lot. Rachel: First of all, take it more than once. Definitely, that is what I would say. The first time you take it, just make sure you have steady mind, just see how you do as you are taking the test, take mental notes, like okay, I took a little bit longer to do this section and that section, and also when you get your scores back, you can know what you need to work on. Kristyn: Just try and relax when you are taking the SAT. If you get so nervous and worked up then you are probably going to do worse, whereas if you just go in there thinking that you are going to do your best and everything will be fine, you should do a lot better. Jeff: Get plenty of sleep. Eat a good breakfast. I mean it is pretty much everything that your school tells you and it is no joke.
