How am I supposed to get VHS and DVD video into my computer? No matter how I tried to put one of those into the MacBook, it just wouldn't go. Wireless packet even told me on Vent that I better be careful. Geesh. Who knew it would be so hard to do?

Male1: Do not be calling me when you need that top case replaced? Male2: No I am just trying to get this, I got video content here it is on VHS I am trying to get it in to my Mac. It is not going to work well I will try with the DVD, nothing, nothing. I know some how I am going to do it oh of course I know how I am going to do it with the ITV 250 plus I need to pick it up anyway for Nomdex, the conference that is going for this weekend in fact I have got my Nomdex 8.0 T-shirt on, I am superman. Says human circuitry with a little bit of stake that I have just ate a few minutes ago setting right in the R, what do you know. Any way yes, I do not know If we are going to be selling this shirts online or what maybe we will I think it is kind of cool human circuitry so yes I think it is going to be the Nomdex ethos moving forward. So anyway the reason why I needed an ITV 250 plus for Nomdex, actually I could have got another product from Elgato but I decided to go to the 250 plus for one reason I will get it into because I needed a way to take a video feed out from the cameras that are going to be at the conference and you know streaming out to the web at live.perillo.com and CNN.com/live is also going to be caring Nomdex in its entire. I am very happy to report that with our partnership with CNN.com/live so. We needed a way to get that video feed into this well obviously there are really not a lot of inputs in a Mac or a Mac book or you know really any old computer unless you have some kind conversion card or some piece of hardware that sits in between the signal and where you wanted to go. So Elgato has a product called ITV and this happens to be ITV 250 plus that includes this little cable and this cable would accept looks like is that S video? Yes I think it is S video and there is audio there are right and left channel you know the white and red and of course a composite video connection the yellow cable. It is not going to be perfect but the good thing is that this particular unit of the I5250 plus or the ITV 250 plus has got a hard ware encoder built in so that the video quality is about as good as it is going to get. So once the video signal comes into here so long it is coming into here then it will go out in to the computer with this. You may have heard it USB is that sounds familiar at all. So, that is how I am going to get a signal from point A to point B I could do this with anything so if I have got VHS tape or a DVD and you get it from there to this I do not think there will be any easier way but the nice thing is that the ITV unit this unit will specifically record and export to iPod, iPhone or apple TV. So if you happened to be an owner of any of those products you really going to like this. This also has a colossal connection which will allow me to record TV shows. That is right, it comes with software that it is really good well basic DVR that a lot of people have enjoyed and though I have not any experience with it you might remember a while ago we did a review as I dig on my bag of tricks of hang on a minute. I got it, got it the Elgato turbo 264 which would basically speed up any kind of video conversion into H.264 format this is another USB device and again we done a video review to what to link to it. This is essentially sitting in here and then of course has a whole lot more. Then one negative I would say about this particular the ITV 250 plus the only negative I can see right up front that it requires an AC adapter. Why it do not just charge by USB, why it drop power by USB price takes too much most likely but it got a high quality and it does everything that I need to do. I am going to be happy. so Lenny or wireless pocket I remember he had pinged me on perillo a few months ago you got another Elgato product that was related to at least television recording. It was at the HDTV another Elgato product was that right Lenny? Got to give him a couple of seconds. Male1: Yes, it was the ITV yes give me a couple of seconds it was the ITV ibirth USB stick it do its over the HRD love it DVR software has a built in web interface so when you do capture the TV shows that you want to record, you could actually specify like you said iPod Apple TV or those formats and you can actually access that information over the internet if you work forward and also under local network so it is amazing. I love it it is great. Male2: Really I wonder if this has got the same kind of feature is got the one click export search programs and schedule with built in program for TV shows rewind, fast, forward, pause TV watch digital analog TV on your Mac but it will take it, should take any old signal kind it is built to do and it is what we need specifically for our conference so anyway I am an Elgado fan as I mentioned the turbo 264 has been a nice edition to my I guess collection of video related hardware. Although I do not get much use out of it since most of my computers you now have a lot of power for video conversion and it is very CPU intensive if you never thought of getting one and you have, you know a slightly older computer or slower computer and you do a lot of video encoding and you cannot really upgrade. One of those conversion tools or aids it is probably going to get you a lot further. So if anybody has experience with any of the ITVs I would certainly be open to hearing your thoughts and even though I know my contacts at Elgado do not realize that I am you know I got one of this things I will certainly be reaching out to them in the near future to tell them my experiences. Oh! I forgot it also comes with-- You know if they made blankets in bubble wrap, I totally buy one or two, if I had to buy more than that. My email address is Chris@perillo.com feel free to drop me on line especially if you have any experience with the ITV250 plus or any of the Elgado products or you have alternatives you want to recommend for Mac or windows or Linux users, certain welcome to hear your feed back and you are also welcome to stop by the chat room which is open pretty much all the time in fact right now do not know what is really going to be happen in the chat room you do not really know what I am going to be doing but here is the thing you can tune in to the live video feed which is streaming out right now. I mean not now in the sense that we are recording this live but it is also like streaming in the time you are watching it because it is always open so as the chat room and we are typically talking tech 24 hours a day 7 days a week at live.perillo -- yes what ever.
