The big proposal has happened, you got the ring. Now, it is onto announcing it to the rest of the world.
What you want to do in a traditional setting is say the bride’s parents name first. So, you would say “Mr. and Mrs. Smith are really pleased to announce Suzie’s engagements to Peter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jones.” Once that is done pop in the paper and there is the traditional announcement.
If you want to have a bit of fun with it and you can do anything you want—the choice is yours, the announcement is yours. You could put a photo in the newspaper, you can do a poem, you can do something funny, you can do it ditty, whatever you want to do—the choice is yours.
The most important thing to do is to find something that you both love.
