Hey everyone and welcome to BFX, the web series dedicated to symbol playing monkeys. [Cymbal and Monkey Sound] I think it is time now to show you how to make a fake wall that your actor can smash through. Stupid Monkey! [Music Playing] This week, we are destroying another heavily requested effect. A fake breakable wall that your actor can safely destroy, and it is been requested by Anime King, Atomic Troop, Bored at French Class Productions, BZD11, Uncle Rice Go, Ninja Jeff, Mr. Wiggle Wag, Tony Harrison 95, KC Outwell and Day Dreamer. (Sigh) that’s a lot of people! Yeah! Alright! [Music Playing] Yeah! [Cymbal Sound] 2 4 x 8 feet chunks of foam core board, 2 10 foot lengths of 1 x 3’s, 2 small chunks of scrap water cardboard, baby powder and white paper tape. [Music Playing] Stop buying it boys, You cannot, not agree! America has made it to choice. We have not sold out. I would love to sell out! There are a lot of toys to make a fake wall. The basic idea is to make it look sturdy, blend it in fear surrounding and above all, not injure you actor. If you have a cool fake wall designs, send in a video about it -- only the comment down below. Ouch! This is actually a pretty simple build. The basic idea is plug up a doorway make it look like a wall. So the first step is to measure that doorway. Ours is 70 x 3 feet. Cut you 1 x 3s to form a basic frame, then measure and cut again. When you are confident your numbers are right, use dry wall screws to build your basic frame then make sure it fits. Trace the size of your frame into the first sheet of foam core then cut it to size. Then, use a staple gun to secure it. Once it is in place, I glued some scrap foam to the top and bottom. Trace out a jacket hole in the center of the board then cut it out with a sharp blade. Next, I want to add fake wooden studs. So, I take our super thin scrap wood and cut it in short-beam. You could also use cardboard here and a pinch. Make the edges jagged and suspend them to the opening with duck tape. This is the back side of our smash wall and not it is time of the front. Carefully precut a chunk of the board which is similar to the back opening. You will need to cut all the way through most of the way around. You will be able to see some lines in the front side but these will be invisible to the camera. Next, spread the back side with glue and dowse it with baby powder. Use glue and staples to carefully attach these to the other side of the frame. Do not forger to cover those foam chunks with glue, they will help stick the front and back boards together. Congrats, you just build a smash wall! Man: So we are getting set for the money shot. Basically, this one has on side, so we are going to pop it out, flip it around, Peter coming through the wall from the opposite side that you can go basically either way. If you cover both sides like this, you can film it from both sides at the same time. [Music Playing] So basically, this is a set of Peter going to jump through. We are going to add a little bit of extra powder. [Music Playing] Wish me luck. [Counting Time Sound] [Music Playing] Looks like a freaking dug out to me. But what do you think happened here?
