Self-confidence is an attitude. With it, you believe that within reason, you are able to do whatever you want to do. The root of confidence lies within the unconscious, so hypnosis is a great tool for building confidence and control over your life.

Hello! I am Alan B. Densky; I would like to welcome you to my video series on self-Confidence. My goals in this series are to entertain you and to educate you about how to increase your level of self-confidence for any endeavor whether it be for dating and social purposes, public speaking, employment advancement or whatever purpose you decided. Self-confidence is an attitude which will allow you to have a positive yet realistic view of yourself and your situations. When you have self-confidence you will trust your own abilities and experience a general sense of control over your life. You will believe that within a reason you will be able to do whatever you want to do. There are several techniques that you can use to increase your level of self-confidence. One such technique is called systematic desensitization. For instance, imagine that a young man who is afraid of heights wants to learn to dive into a swimming pool from a high diving board. With systematic desensitization he would start out by locating a diving board that is close enough to the water but there is always this little or no feelings of fear and he jumps in, he thrusts. When he lands unharmed, he realizes on both the conscious level and on unconscious level, that jumping from that height does not present any danger. He may jump in from that height several times and each time he will reinforce the belief that it is safe to jump in from that low diving board. Next, now that he feels confident on this low board, he starts to dive in headfirst. Each time he lands unharmed, he realizes both on a conscious level and on unconscious level that diving from that height does not present any danger and his self-confidence grows. Eventually, his confidence becomes so great that he begins to learn how to trick dive at this same board height. Next he finds a diving board that is only slightly higher than the board he is been diving from. As he masters that board, he progressively increases the height of the board that he is diving from and each time that he lands unharmed, his self confidence increases to an even greater extent. I think that you are beginning to get the picture here. Each times he dives in and lands unharmed his confidence grows and so does his expectation of success on the next step of the ladder. Eventually, he is able to feel complete confidence about diving from any height above the water. Systematic desensitization works well in reality, but it can even work more quickly when a person is in hypnotic state and they simply imagine going through the same experiences as they would in reality. It is time for you to learn your first mental exercise for building self-confidence. Think about how your life will improve as you begin to feel more confident. What I would like you to do is to sit back and take a few moments and allow yourself to begin to relax. If you know how to do progressive relaxation, then you should go ahead and do that. Or you can download one of my free power relaxation MP3s from the Neuro Vision website. Or you can simply fantasize a relaxing experience. Do you enjoy sunsets? If you do, fantasize a beautiful sunset and imagine that you can smell a hint of salt in the air. Imagine that you can feel a cool breeze on your skin. Imagine hearing the sounds that you would actually hear if you were outside watching a sunset. As you begin to feel relaxed, what I would like you to do is to make a mental movie of yourself and in your movie, I want you to see yourself in a situation where you previously lacked self-confidence. But, this time I want you to see yourself actually experiencing all of the confidence that you want to feel. Make your movie as realistic as possible. To the best of your ability, I would like you to make your movie in color, close, three-dimensional, focussed sharply and normally bright. Adjust your movies so that it feels as real and believable as possible. And see yourself in that situation exhibiting complete self-confidence. Now, allow your consciousness to come back to the video screen. The more often you watch your mental movie, the better. Bedtime is an excellent time to make these mental movies, where you see yourself experiencing all of the confidence that you have always dreamed of. In the next Chapter, we will discuss more aspects of self-confidence and how you can go about getting tremendously powerful feelings confidence. If you like to see the next Chapter in this series right now or you want to move onto to one of the other topics that I cover in my videos like appetite suppression and weight loss or how to quit smoking or kick the smokeless tobacco addiction or any of my other videos then you should know that I host the Self Hypnosis Video blog, where you can easily access all my free videos in one centralized place. This free library is a work in progress, so new videos are being added all the time. Thanks for watching.
