Your sump pit has a direct impact on the performance of your basement sump pump. What is almost always overlooked when choosing a sump pump is the design of the sump liner or sump pit. Usually the first feature homeowners consider is the GPH, or, gallons per hour of water that the pump can remove from the basement. If the pit design can't deliver that amount of water in the first place, then the pump will never reach it's optimal capacity and will usually have a shortened life span.
