HomeServe 5 minute fix: Cleaning Silver Shinning polish silver always looks the business but it is even exposure to air. Let alone being handle leads to a soft sheen on the surface and overtime it can be discolored and tarnish. To get your silver looking well silver again, here is HomeServe’s 5 minute fix. Step one, toothpaste. Grab your tube of toothpaste from the bathroom and squeeze on to t he tarnish silver just enough to get even coat. Step two, warm water. Mix with the little warm water and work the paste into a foam and gently rub with an old toothbrush. After a minute as those work, rinse off. Step three, polish.
