I am here to talk to about cleaning your refrigerator and your freezer. What you want to start by doing is taking all the food off the shelves, get yourself some nice, clean water with a little bit of mild dishwashing detergent in it. Wash everything down. You want to take your shelves out, take the drawers out, pop them in the sink and wash them independently. Once everything is washed, you want to put it back in again and make sure you dry the whole fridge down with a nice clean towel. Make sure you get the doors. If any dirt is in any these nooks and crannies—you can get a toothbrush and clean out with a toothbrush, that always works. With your freezer, we want to do is make sure, if you have one with the old freezers, you do not want to scrape any of the ice on there especially with a knife, because a lot of them have gas in them. So, what you want to do is just leave the door open, put the towel on the bottom and let it defrost naturally. Obviously before you start in here is you have to turn the unit off. With the new fridge freezers, what you find is these are automatically defrosting. So, you do not need to do anything. Turn the unit off before you wipe it down. Otherwise you find that there is a bit of frost stick on here and it will stick to your scrounge which is very annoying. You do this once a week or maybe once a month, before you do a big shop, you will never have a smelly fridge.
