Female: Now, for models that go to some shoots and they do not want to use, a lot of them do not use hair stylist. What do you suggest? Male: If you do not have a hair stylist and you really do not know how to do hair, keep it very simple. Keep it very simple because sometimes the less is more. Female: And also, it looks so much different in photography. Male: Yes. Female: So, different than doing your every day hair style. Male: Right, there is a huge difference between one set hair and salon hair and music video hair, you know. Female: Now, when a model comes on the day of a shoot for you, they always tell me clean hair. What does that mean? Of course your hair is clean but what does this mean to you? Male: To me is just being very polish— Female: Not a lot of product. Male: Yes, not a lot of product because you do not want to weigh the hair down. You want it to be movable and free flowing, so not a lot of product at all. Female: So, just wash it – Male: Wash, blow dry usually like a polisher’s fan, it gives you sheen in the picture. Female: For a model, that is like going on fast things. How do you think they should have their hair, any ideas and the best way to style it? Male: Pretty much how you how ever wear it everyday. Pretty close to how your hair shines on because you know, when you are casting then, it look completely different than the picture they have seen before you got there. Female: Exactly, I always see the models in castings but the fun on their car. They have a blond hair but then they are sitting on a brown hair. Male: Exactly, when you change your hair, you need to change your color. Female: Yes, that has not been definite. What about color treated hair? Male: To me, it is kind of difficult to wear because you have to keep up the color. And also the lighter you go, the drier it gets and the drier it looks. The more you lift their natural pigment out, it starts to look like straw. So, you start to get all the frizzy going on in the— Female: So, those girls who are going from like brown hair to blond and their hair looks dry, they might be better off just going back to brown. Male: Yes, definitely because you are taking so much of the natural pigment out that is just really damaging to the hair. Female: That is very good advice.
