How to deal with Wild Garlic?
Eve spring one of the toughest weed that I have to deal within my flowerbed and lawn is wild onion or garlic. Now, I do not mind if few odds and none is coming up like this wild uranium of even a few dandelions. But this onions having an offensive odor and they just seem to multiply everywhere. This little devils reproduce them selves from under ground bulbs and then from seeds later in the season.
It sees little bubbles that make them so hard to do a deal with because they can be as deep as eight to 10 inches under ground. The are friendly way to deal with wild garlic. It is just to dig up the clamps. You see if you trying up pull them up you just tare off the tops and they will back to hunt you. And to make your job easier in removing this soak the area you are going to work in the night before.
When you make your cut with the shovel push it as deep into the ground as you can close to the garlic. Now if you have a heavy infestation of wild garlic you may have to resort to using chemicals 2-4-D is a herbicide that kills broad leaf weeds as well as wild garlic. It should be applied with a sprayer and more often the nod it will take several applications to kill the first generation. You will also need to do this again next year to destroy the next generation that smelled garlic.
