Jeff Anderson: We are in the street fight situation. One, where you are either out numbered or the odds are obviously against you. Escape is your number one priority. It is not cowardly to run away, if you can get away and you see that the advantage is theirs. But what if, the person is faster than you, so you are running away, they are running after you, and now that people talk about what happens when they catch up to you, and you're already out of breath, and now you have to combat as you are out the breath, they are on top of you. So what I am going to show you is, something that we took away from first grade, it was a game that we use to play on the playground, that works really-really well in street base self defense, and I used to call it "Johnny Tackle", there were some other words for it as well, but "Johnny Tackle" is the one that we'll use and it works a little bit like this. Basically, when, let's say that you are in a situation, and you are able to start running. You are able to get out of the situation, but all of a sudden you notice that somebody is faster and you can hear them coming up on top of you. So here is what you are going to do? Is, as you are running, you are going to hear them coming behind you, you will notice when they are coming. So he is running up to you, you are running, you are running, just when you hear that he is right on your tail, right about to ready to reach out and grab, all you are going to do is just drop down in a fetal position like this. Now he is not expecting this. So when you drop down, and he is still running, he is going to fall over you. And when he falls over you, you're in a control position, he is trying to figure out how to get his balance back. So after you drop down, you quickly get up and start with kicking, stomping, coming through with your combatives, whatever it is, but you are going to be in a controlled position. So that's what you would do when somebody is a faster one than you, and you are trying to get out of the situation. Male Speaker: This segment is brought to you by closequarterscombat.com.
