Perimeter Base Defense
One of the other things that we add to our defense is, our defense is always moving. When I pop the ball for you guys to go back into defense, notice that all of our back row defensive players work their way out to the sideline and then in. High score is get into this habit of going from like, let's say, left back defense, and now rotate right here. By doing that they are giving up all of zone 5. Our defense here, they, actually rotate out to the sideline and then work their way in. That way they are not giving up zone 5. The same thing with middle back. Middle back always comes off the court and you are working your way in.
So basically you are using the sidelines and the end line as like a point of reference. You don't want to get sucked in too far. So when the kids go back in the defense, it looks something like this. They go back, okay. Now if I were to toss that ball like I am going to attack to them, they start creeping forward on my attack. Okay, so go back to base and it will look something like this. Back, back, back here, done, done, done okay and they will actually play it out. But notice so they are going back into defense I am going up to attack, as soon as I come forward, as soon as I attack the ball, they are creeping forward. This is one of the reasons why they are creeping forward.
Let's say I am here, here they are back and I dump. Okay, they are moving forward, that way they can pick up the junk and the crap that might fall on the middle of the court.
