Apparently, a whole bunch of people have gotten iPods for Christmas because I have been getting a ton of questions asking me how do I turn the You Tube video into an MP3 or put it on my iPod or put it on my stupid Zoon or edit it in Windows movie maker. Basically, how can I convert it to multiple formats, so that is what this video is going to be about? The top recommended one is vixy.net. Basically, you enter in the URL, you select what format you want, AVI, MOV, MP4 for iPod or PSP, 3GP, MP3, etc. You can just select whichever one, click start and it will start downloading the video for you and then it will convert it for you and it will let you save it. Another one is ConvertYouTube.com. Again, you just enter in the URL, you select whatever format you want, DVD or whatever, audio, wave audio. It has several different formats. Another one is ModifyVideo.com and again it is the same thing, enter in You Tube video and you can download it in multiple formats. I am giving you all these because a lot of times, these sites die. They crash, they fail, and they do not work anymore. Here is another one, vconvert.at. It is a weird domain. Again, the same thing, paste the URL, it will not let me paste. Anyway, it is a program. Okay next one, flvix, I can not even pronounced it phonetically. I am going to paste the URL and again I select the desired format and convert. So, in summary, I just entered the video I want to download. It downloads it onto their server and from their server it converts it into whatever file you specify. However, it takes a while because it has to download it and convert it and if many people are doing it at the same time it can go really, really slow. That is why I like to convert it on my computer. I download the get video from You Tube and then just rename it .flv. I already have done it on another video here and then I can play with flv player 1.3.3 or vlc player. Go to those players which can play flv files. But how do I download it? There are a lot of video down loaders for You Tube, for example keepvid. Keepvid is one of the most popular. Just ask your friends, there are a lot of them out there. Do not necessarily rely on keepvid. You know that you can post it as a comment. But anyway, I can get the get video file and rename it with flv at the end. You can use the transcoder to change the format to whatever you want. For example, my favorites, my two favorite ones are media coder and super and they are also the most popular. Now, there are many of them out there so do not get offended if I did not include yours but media coder is cool. It is an open source and it is really easy to use. Okay, I just drag and drop the get video.flv into it and now let us convert it. First, I am going to convert it into an MP3. If you transcode it yourself it will be quite faster and here I have the get video.mp3. To turn the flv into a video format, it is the same process. Just go to the video tab, enable video, the bit rate determines the file size but also the coli and you can set it at AVI, MP4, Windows Media, Real Media. Whole bunch of different formats with different encoders you can use. So, it has several options here and you can enable or disable audio. So, you can disable audio and add your own music or dub the video over. After that, just click start and again it will start transcoding the video. If you have a special formats, like the iPod or something you want to use. You can use the same because we also have this option, extensions and it actually has a whole bunch of templates. It already disappeared I did not even click any thing but it has a bunch of templates to convert your videos. Here is PSP, and I am sure they have iPod somewhere, yes, Apple iPod. I can just click from various templates that I want to convert the video to and it will already have the settings I can use. So I just click this iPod extension thing and I just click start transcoding. Basically, it already gave me the options I need to make the perfect conversion onto an iPod and then I can just say, okay start and it will start converting to an iPod format.
