100% Compliance
Speaker: If you want quick results here's how to get them; 100% compliance, 100% of the time. What I mean by that is when you command your dog to do something, your dog needs to do it. If your dog does not do it, you need to physically move your dog into the position that you have requested. When you do this, your dog learns that he needs to comply; whether he does it on his on accord or you do it for him.
Every time you do this, you are reinforcing that when he hears a specific word, he needs to do something specific.
For instance, if you say sit, and your dog does not immediately sit, I want you to move your dog into the sit position quickly and efficiently while you say sit. As soon as they are in the sit position, say good, or whatever treat word that you are using. You can also pat your dog or give him a food treat as well.
This 100% compliance can not be emphasized enough. It's going to cut down on your training time immensely. Plus, your dog will learn that he has to listen to what you say, and that what you are saying needs to be paid attention to.
