Hi and welcome to the 4AllMemory., Laptop Memory Installation Guide. Today we are going to do a video of installing some laptop memory and give you a good idea how to do it. It is really not that difficult, people tend to get scared but it is not that hard. So as you can see, I have got a laptop here. You want to turn it over on the side, unplug the power supply and you want to make sure to discharge yourself on something metal whether something in the room, something that is grounded, you want to ground yourself to shut any build up of static electricity that might damage the memory. So the first thing you want to do is remove the battery. It is very important, you want to take away the power supply, so as you can see here on this laptop, the battery is right here. You want to make sure you put this on the unlock position. And then if you move this to the unlock position and hold it there, we can slide the battery out like so. Take the battery aside. In order to locate the memory slot, you got several different panels here. This is the hard drive, this is the memory, you can tell, its just got a certain shape and it is usually in the middle. So it is no harm to open this and find out. That will open up the memory slot here. Just use a standard Philips screw driver, get the screw out, and make sure you don’t lose it. We will just pull up this. As you can see, here is out memory. We have one slot on this machine and there are two metal clips right here, one on either side of the memory. Now, what you will do is you will very carefully pull the clips apart and the memory will popup. As soon as the memory pops up, you just pull it out gently as you can see, here it is. And we will go, we got our new memory, here it is. Now, as you can see, there is a notch right here and that corresponds to the notch in the motherboard. Just make sure that you don’t put the memory in incorrectly, it is very important to line up the notch and what you want to do is you want to insert it at a 45 degree angle. Basically, just pay attention to how it popped up on its own and then put it back in at the same way. So make sure you firmly sit it and then you should see these clips you pushed on and the clips you snapped back into place and that is it. You want to make sure, you screw on our casing again. And put the battery back in. the battery should be as easy. You just slide it in like that and we are good to go. Now we have a memory upgrade in our laptop.
