Alright let's talk about kids kitchen safety, very important that your kitchen be a safe place for your kid. You don't want it to be off limits for them because they will never learn how to cook or do any of those chores that they need to learn for themselves, so you have to make your kitchen a safe place for the child. It's important that they understand that the oven is a hot, hot item and that any touching of that appliance could result in them being injured. So when the oven is on, you want to together bring their hands close but not to touch just enough so them to feel the heat. You want them to understand it as you get closer to it, it gets hotter and you want to explain to them that burning is a really big boo-boo, it hurts and it can be very dangerous.
You don't want to carry your child and boiling water at the same time. Something could startle you, you never know you could trip on something, the water could splash up and burn the child very badly. So you want to try to always keep hot pots and pans away from them. They also have to be protected from their own curiosity. Make sure you put those plastic plugs in the outlets to prevent them from sticking things in the air to discover what's in the air. Make sure the toaster is out of their reach. I put my hand in the toaster when I was four to see what those little red things were, they hurt, that's not a good thing. You want to make sure that the appliances that are going to hurt them are a little bit off limits and you have got to teach them that very early on. You also want to make sure that your toxic chemicals for cleaning should be completely out of reach. In fact you can find replacements for all of those these days that are non toxic. The floors are an area where your child will be crawling, their hands, their feet, they put their hands in their mouth, they will ingest very toxic substances if you don't switch over to something that's non toxic, there are a great variety of very environmentally and kid friendly cleansing products these days that will still make your kids sick if they ingest them but they will not kill them and that is the main thing. You want to keep your kid safe.
If there is a fire alarm or smoke alarm close to the stove that's a good idea, you never know when a kid starts to cook they might not always be good at remembering, it's good to have a timer, have a timer and show them how to use it so that they can remember when to turn off the flame or the heat underneath whatever it is they are cooking and keep your kids safe that's the best way to make sure that they have a happy healthy life.
