These stamped bookmarks for kids are easy, fast and economical. They are great Christmas crafts and a good product for craft fairs.

How to Make a Stamped Bookmark www.scrappingbydesign.com This little Christmas bookmarks for children are rather delightful. They are easy to make, fast to make, economical to make and really quite cute. I have been told that they sell well at some craft fairs because you can sell it through about a dollar and it is something that the kids can buy and have a purchase of their own to take home. So once you can see there is a variety of ways you can do them, I have shown you three here that are all just too tiny bit different. Now let us take a look at the surprise she will need. In terms of paper you need three yard types of paper. I will use one scrap pad paper and two card stock. The bottom one at the bottom, the red is the largest, it is 5 inches long by 3 inches wide and you cut your other two correspondingly smaller so it will align like that. You will also need some fiber for trimming it to the top. You will need some kind of a punch to make the whole for the fiber to go through. I have used, this is ColorBox primary, I have used that to just color around the edges of the top paper. I have also used this dimensional glue to color Rudolph’s nose and since it is stamped to—it is heat embossed, I have done my stamping with a tinted acid free ink from Top Boss, it is an embossing stamp pad and you will of course need a heat gun. If you do not know how to do heat embossing I would refer you to the video tutorial on my website scrappingdesign.com and the stamp I used is this one by the Old Island Stamp Company. There are local company, you can find them on the internet if you do a search. The first move will be to color a little bit around the edges around three edges. So what I do, I am just going down like that and you have to do that on all of the three sides. I have now colored around three sides of the card stock and I have stamped my stamp in the tinted embossing ink, so the next step will be to simply do that and remove it. The thing about tinted ink is that you can somewhat to see the design, so you know what should we have done. So now I am using pyrite’s gold and I have poured it into this tray so I go over like that and you can see the embossing powder has stocked to the card stock and the next move, I will not demonstrate it but you would take your heat gun and melt that and their I have now melted the gold embossing powder and you can see it, so quite a nice surface. In case you have not done this before, this is the embossing powder I used, it is called pyrite’s gold and it is by Stampendous. Now that is done, so line up your papers like sauce, so they are lined up at the top here and using your punch you will make a hole to all three of them. It does not have to be a punch of this size, this is rather a large one but just so long as it is big enough that you can get your fiber through it, that is the main thing. You might find that some of this smaller punch will not punch to three pieces of paper, so if that is the case you may need to punch them individually. I have now punched the whole through the three papers. So the next thing we are going to do is trim the corners to make a tag shape. So being sure that some—everything is lined up, I will show you how to do this. Just take your scissors and willingly cut off one of the corners then to make the other corner even, you take the bottom paper, set it over top so it is like this, make sure your hole loops, make sure you are holding everything in place, and nothing is moving around. Line it up and then do that and there you are. It is some two equal corners. Your last move of course will be to take your fiber and put it through the top. So now I have tied the fiber in place and I am going to give Rudolph a three dimensional, shiny, red nose. I am using—this is some kind of three dimensional glue, so I am just going to put a little—it turned out to be quite a big blob. So that is the bookmark completed. The bookmark is of course do not have to be Christmas themed, since I am doing this with children in mind, I have about three others here. This one is a frog and it has some green dots done with green dimensional glue. This one is a cow and you cannot really see it but I have put diamond colored glitter glue in the cow’s body and the cat is the same thing. Now you could also use in the same stamp that I used before, you could make a little gift card for Christmas. This is just a little rectangle folded in half. What I did, I heat embossed the entire stamp on the bottom, heat embossed it with pyrite’s gold again then I stamped the face twice more. Once that I stamped the face on gold colored card stock and I stamped the scarf on red and then I cut those out and I put them on with glue dots to give a three dimensional effect and in this case I have given Rudolph a red nose in glitter glue.
