Hi everyone! I am Steve Nelson and you are watching 4 Minute Film School. Now, it is pretty obvious that internet video has become a big part of film making community. I mean you are watching the show on the internet probably right now and everybody is picking up a camera and try to have the number one most viewed video on the web. So what we did is sat down with the people at BarelyPolitical.com responsible for the internet smash it. I got a crush on Obama. To try and get some advise on how to viral and I am not talking about picking the hertz. So stop the clock. Blood Squirter Catch up with a classic in indymogul.com So today, we will be join by Rusty Word of the Word Room and Ben Relles and Amber Lee of the Obama girl team. Now Rusty, let us start with you. First and for most, welcome to 4 Minute Film School. Rusty: Actually, this is the Word room Steve. Steve: We are just giving you a little segment on my show. Rusty: I will come through the camera. I let—put it in your--. Steve: What do you think it is that made Obama girls so popular. Amber: We have a lot of fun that day. It was a six hours of shooting on the street of New York City. People around us got involve. They did not know what we are doing on the subway or in such a park. So I think we just have a good team and just a great recipe. Steve: Now, this recipe, is it for some kind of potion that butting film makers can ingest in order to start making viral videos? Rusty: Yes. Ben: You know lot of these just a people to work on it and yes I got like amazing song, Amber in amazing job video, I got these directors at the last minute and they did a fantastic job and it is a really like good team that kind of came together on it. And then all with all of our video, I think a lot what we are doing is kind of taking something of people are ready talking about and sort of piggy back on that. And we build a rally when off the other day on inside of this, you can make 20 years ago. Everybody is talking about that video and then a day later we have another view. Rusty: Whatever it is, is not right on the tele proper. I do not know what that is I have never seen that. I know you have not seen it because you have the IQ of a turnip. You hopeless gorilla. Steve: The original video had already gone viral. But you came up with an inspiring and extremely simply way to build upon that and it is something that any of our viewers really could do. Could you give us a little bit of insight in the creation of your masterpiece? Rusty: We saw the build rally photoaged and we thought this is great. This is magic, but we can do something with this. This is a tool we can use, we can manipulate looking forge into something greater. Ben: So basically, if the new stories out there, we have a chance to kind of react really quickly and maybe we can become part of that story. But the tough this is sometimes we plan this big videos and then things happening and this is kind of change. Steve: So viewers, I think the main lesson here is that the concept to put is in vital part in the process of making a video go viral. And as members of the indymogul community you should already know how to put together a film project to itself. And speaking to which, how much do the original Obama girl cost to make? Amber: $1,000,000.00. Ben: Amber got $800,000.00 of it and she could retire it now, but she does this with the love of Obama right. Now, it was really like—it was really cheap. It was a few thousand dollars and even that was more than initially plan to spend the day we shot the video. I was planning and shooting with myself and then like 11:00 a.m. that way, I start thinking, “I know what can I do to handle this and everyone is going to know what I am doing.” Steve: But you do random viewer. And if you don’t, you could just watch more episode of indy mogul. You do not need to hire anybody. It does not matter how crappy your equipment is as long as you know how to use it right. You can build some great stuff. And if you want to make a music video and write your own song, download the demo fruity loops for windows or use garage bend on your Mac and though in some creative lyrics and you are in the same boat as barely political. Now, I am off to pen my next big hit. I join you guys up next week and maybe I will give you quick little samples of what I have done. Who knows? But for everybody at BarelyPolitical thank you for coming on the show. And I am Steve Nelson. This has been another episode of 4 minute Film School. See you next week.
